Skyline Future... Maybe

You know those days where you have a day off, got a couple of chores to do but don't really have much else planned? And no matter what you think, everything seems to either involve lots of money, or friends that are just no available? Well unfortunately that is me, a lot of the time, so normally during these times of boredom I think of what I could do if I had the money, especially to my car. But I am surely not the only one.

Anyhow, I definitely know the first think I want to get, and I get comments about it all the time, like legit everywhere I go."You need more low man!" And my response is typically always the same "I know man..." So with that, a mint set of coilovers would be my first buy. Wouldn't go so slow I would need to roll my guards or over fenders or anything like that, because really. Thats not my style. Clean and fresh is what I want. Not to say that I don't like over fenders and such, but for me on my cars, its a no. So yes, coils would be my first purchase. But from there it would be onto and into the engine bay.

Now all of the following are pretty much linked and it should really be done all at the same time to avoid lots of extra hours. So we have a nice front mount intercooler (FMIC) and along with that a front facing plenum or commonly known as intake manifold. Seeing that the stock RB25DET intake manifold runs back over the engine and down towards the side mount intercooler it can be a lot of work in order to run a front mount system as you have to run the intake piping over the engine when really its not necessary. However in creating the intake that way Nissan had done it for a good reason. With the air entering right in the middle of the 6 cylinders it spread equally. However with most of your professionally made front facing intakes has been made to spread the air out evenly so its no real hassle, just a reason why Nissan had done so. However that is my understanding of it.

Anyway coils, FMIC and Front Facing intake are the things I have my eye on currently. After that is a whole lot of not sure. Some ideas now where to go from there include full brakes upgrades, so both disks and calipers. And if I really get the time and money an engine rebuild, maybe a RB30/25 build. Seeing from what I have heard the RB30 bottom end is damn sturdy. Otherwise a bigger turbo, maybe a high mount. Again like I have said I am not too sure where I want to the car to go in the future, but thats mechanically where i am thinking. But I haven't put any time limit on this as it will more than likely take quite a while to get going.

So this is my base plan for my R34 skyline, bare in mind I am no mechanic so my knowledge is limited so if you feel I was wrong in any area, please let me know. Any comments, questions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Would also love to hear some of your car goals: engine swaps or builds whatever you are looking to do with your pride and joy chuck us a comment.
